OSTA Talks – Living with Animals in the City 2

Theme: Urban Coexistence
Leuven serves as a case study for human-animal interactions in urban spaces. The city has implemented various initiatives that address the needs of both domestic and wild animals. By examining these initiatives, we can better understand how urban spaces can foster meaningful connections between humans, animals, and the natural world.
Speaker: Thomas Van Oppens (Alderman, City of Leuven)
Thomas previously served as alderman for animal welfare in Leuven and is currently the alderman for environment, which also includes responsibility for biodiversity and species conservation. Through his commitment, animal welfare and nature protection have become key priorities in Leuven’s local policy.
